Winter Skin Savers for Extra Dry Skin
This winter has literally broken me. From cracking eyelids to chapped hands, not to mention a recurring miserable cold, I've seen it all this winter. Whilst I haven't found a remedy for the pesky cold, I think I've finally found a formula to beating winter skin. Keep reading for my top winter skin savers to keep you glowing throughout these colder months.
This facial cream is the holy grail! It's relatively budget friendly and super moisturising. I've tried a host of drugstore alternatives in a bid to save money, but nothing moisturises my skin like Kiehl's Ultra Facial cream. I love that it's thick and creamy but absorbs quickly into my skin. Also the consistency means that it'll last a relatively long time as you only need a little bit to hydrate your skin.
A recent addition to my winter skincare routine, this creamy eye treatment has taken my peepers from a dry, flaky mess to a place of beautiful hydration. The formulation is extremely thick and creamy and you literally need a dab on each eye for maximum effect (and minimal concealer slippage). If you have normal skin, this treatment is probably best used at night as it may be a bit too rich to wear under make up. If, like me, your skin errs on the side of extreme dryness (we're talking one step away from eczema here) then slather it on morning and night. Your eyelids will thank you.
(I promise this post isn't sponsored by Kiehl's, I'm just a huge fan of their products.)
I've been using this Masque for about 3 years now and when I tell you it is the TRUTH when it comes to hydration, I mean it. A thin layer before bed and you wake up with plump, glowing skin. As with all products that I've mentioned so far, a little goes a very long way - you only need a (very) thin layer as it's quite a sticky formulation and no one wants that all over their pillowcase! I like to use this once a week in the winter and it's especially great at bringing your skin back to life after a long haul flight or night out.
Moving onto the skin on your body, Aveeno skincare is perfect to fight off the winter dryness. I'd previously used the moisturiser but I really noticed a difference when I started using the moisturising body wash as well. You can actually feel the body wash moisturising whilst you're in the shower. It's pricey for body wash and moisturiser but soft skin is important guys!
Nobody needs chapped hands! This hand cream will keep dry skin at bay and it's unscented which means it won't irritate already sensitive skin. Also, I feel like my nails have been doing much better since I started using it.
